Helen Hunt is best known as an actress. Most people recognize her from her Oscar-winning performance in As Good As It Gets with Jack Nicholson and Greg Kinnear or from the super popular sitcom Mad About You with Paul Reiser. Her film resume (Twister, Pay It Forward) is as impressive as her TV resume. She’s been acting since 1973! In the 1970s alone she had roles on Swiss Family Robinson, Mary Tyler Moore, and The Bionic Woman, among others.
So what’s Helen Hunt up to these days? Still acting…and directing…and writing. After directing and starring in the 2007 film, Then She Found Me, she starred in, directed and wrote the screenplay for Ride, a dramedy with Brenton Thwaites and Luke Wilson, who plays a surf teacher/love interest. Hunt plays an overbearing New York City mother who goes to Southern California when her son decides to drop out of school and become a surfer.
