“Biden continues to mask his failures with lies,” writes Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, flat out calling the President a liar in an incendiary tweet before asserting that “Republicans have been warning about the border crisis — including the deadly fentanyl pouring into cities & towns across America — since day one.”
The McCarthy invective comes after President Biden’s Twitter account claimed that “MAGA House Republican proposals would slash funding for border security – a move that could allow nearly 900 pounds of fentanyl into our country.”

Last month Florida Congressman Maxwell Frost tried to determine a subjective truth about the contentious border, a problematic issue for decades and also frequently a wellspring for fact-free political propaganda.
Frost asked boots-on-the-ground border patrol agents: Are Biden’s immigration policies, as as MAGA GOP insist, responsible for what MAGA provocatively calls an “open border”?
The answer Frost received from border patrol agents testifying under oath was “No.”

Fox News has also reported on the effectiveness of fentanyl seizure operations at the border under Biden, with a headline on February 17 that read: “Border Patrol seizes enough fentanyl to kill 100 million Americans in under five months.”
U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz said then that agents have seized more than “465lbs of [fentanyl] between the ports of entry since the start of the fiscal year in October.”
Ortiz also reported that in “the month of January alone, agents seized 55 firearms [and] over 6,800 lbs of narcotics, which included enough fentanyl to kill over 60 million people.”
When the drug seizure data came out, McCarthy, talking about the border and related Fentanyl problem, said: “I promise you this, the new majority in Congress — we’re going to fight to fix this problem.”
That day the New York Post, owned by Rupert Murdoch, had this headline: Border Patrol seizes enough fentanyl to kill 100 million Americans in under five months.
