Two new episodes of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit will kick-off Season 23. In the “And The Empire Strikes Back” episode, as the investigation into a sex-for-housing scheme expands, Captain Olivia Benson’s (Mariska Hargitay) loyalty to Deputy Chief Christian Garland (Demore Barnes) is tested.
In the second episode, “Never Turn Your Back On Them,” the search for a missing witness leads Officers “Fin” Tutuola (Ice-T) and Katriona “Kat” Tamin (Jamie Gray Hyder) down a dangerous path. Hyder captioned the photo above: “Let’s send Kat off in style.”
It has been announced that the characters of Garland and Kat have been written off the show. After the news was made public, Hyder wrote to her fans on Instagram: “The decision was made above my pay grade, and wouldn’t have been my choice, but hey – that’s show biz for ya.”
Prior to the Law & Order: SVU premiere, Hyder landed the cover of Vestal magazine and has the super glamorous photos (by Danilo Hess) to prove it (above and below).
Get ready to see more of Jamie: she will appear next on the big screen in the sci-fi/action/adventure film Mischief Upon Mischief.
The back-to-back Season 23 premiere episodes of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit air Thursday, September 23 at 8 pm. It is followed by the Season 2 premiere of Law & Order: Organized Crime at 10 pm on NBC.
