Miley Cyrus took to her Instagram handle to share a snippet of her single “Slide Away” — which appears to reflect her current relationship status. The lyrics include the lines: “Once upon a time it was made for us/ Once upon a day it turned to dust/ Baby we were found but now we’re lost/ So it’s time to let go.” The photo features empty bottles of booze and a variety of scattered pills floating in a pool of water.
The release comes on the heels of her rumored split with her husband of eight months (and longtime boyfriend), actor Liam Hemsworth. Cyrus hasn’t made an official announcement but Liam has and warns fans about the media coverage.
Hemsworth wrote on Instagram that he will not be making comments to the media or journalists about his relationship with Cyrus and warns fans “any reported quotes attributed to me are false.”
The couple has been in an on-and-off relationship for about a decade now. The journey has been quite tough and nothing less than a roller coaster ride for both. Let’s hope that this marks the beginning of something beautiful for both of them.
