On Season 7 of Basketball Wives, new cast member Kristen Scott (daughter-in-law of former NBA player-turned-coach Byron Scott) cried to Byron’s fiancee Cece Gutierrez about them “not seeing my kid.” (She and her husband Thomas have a baby girl named Kenzi.)
Byron made it known on the show that he was not happy about what Kristen said and has since kept his distance from her. “Thomas will always be my son. We always going to be family. But if I never see her (Kristen) again in life, I’m cool,” Byron said.
While the drama between Kristen and CeCe (and OG) continues, Byron announced that he’s launching Premiere Basketball League, a league for former NBA basketball players who are transitioning to extend their basketball careers including Amar’e Stoudemire and Metta World Peace.
Premiere Basketball co-owner John Askew says what makes their league different from Ice Cube’s Big 3 League, where Byron Scott’s son Thomas is Director of Operations, is that the Big 3 is 3-on-3 basketball; Premiere is “what you’re used to seeing, 5 on 5 basketball.” Basketball Wives airs Wednesdays at 8 pm on VH1.
