Late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel is the one who came up with the idea of producing two new episodes of Norman Lear’s 1970s sitcoms “All in the Family” and “The Jeffersons” in front of a live audience.
Oscar winning actor Jamie Foxx (Ray) is playing dry cleaner store owner George Jefferson and Wanda Skyes is playing his wife Weezy. (Kerry Washington and Will Ferrell are playing their neighbors Helen and Tom.) Three-time Oscar nominee Woody Harrelson is playing Archie Bunker and Oscar winner Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny) is playing his “dingbat” wife Edith. That’s a lot of star power on one stage.
When not promoting her own work on social media, Brooklyn-born Marisa Tomei sends shout-outs to friends and family members including her younger brother Adam Tomei. Adam recently opened Lupetti Pizzeria in downtown Los Angeles which is serving Brooklyn style pizza by the slice. Marisa posted photos and a video of her and a friend wearing blue bubble bumper balls and dancing in the aisles of the pizzeria, having a blast. As Tomei describes the scene, it was “silly silly silly silly.”
