VH1’s new reality TV show Cartel Crew follows eight young people living in Miami. They’re connected by the lives of their parents who were big-time drug cartel dealers and smugglers. Most of their parents have been murdered while on the job — and now their descendants are trying to make it with legit jobs. But their pasts always haunt them.
The star of the show is Katherine “Tatu Baby” Flores (Ink Master) owner of the tattoo shop Till the End. She is the daughter of a former drug kingpin in Queens, New York who was assassinated on a street corner when she was four years old. Flores’ friend Marie is dating Michael Corleone Blanco, son of the late Griselda Blanco, the notorious “Cocaine Godmother” who was murdered in 2012. Michael says, “My mother invented the modern day cocaine trade as we know it.” Kat calls Michael “cartel royalty.”

Colombian-born Griselda Blanco, who also reportedly masterminded more than 200 murders, was depicted in the 2018 TV movie Cocaine Godmother (SEE LINK ABOVE) by Oscar and Tony Award winning actress Catherine Zeta Jones (Chicago), who is white with Irish and Welsh heritage. The film was directed by Oscar winner, Mexican-born director Guillermo Navarro (Pan’s Labyrinth). Cartel Crew airs Mondays at 9 pm on VH1, right after Love & Hip Hop.
