American Eagle Oufitters apparel is serious about winning the holiday retail shopping season — and it’s apparently heard that traditional retail is under pressure. The well-liked brand with a 148-store presence (mostly in shopping malls around the US) is responding with a major sales push, offering 40 percent off items online and in-store – even new arrivals. Note that American Eagle’s Aerie brand for lingerie and women’s intimates is also offering discounts, but not quite 40 percent!
Even American Eagle’s most popular items like women’s jeans are being discounted 25 percent online and in-store. (Aerie is also giving away a free blanket for extra holiday coziness with a purchase of 60% or more.)
