In the New Amsterdam episode “Three Dots,” while Reynolds celebrates his birthday at the hospital, a patient’s treatment plan takes an unexpected turn when Dr. Max Goodwin (Ryan Eggold) gets overly invested. The patient is Rabbi Skillman.
[Check out Wyner as Col. Sandurz in Spaceballs]
Rabbi Skillman is portrayed by George Wyner. It’s not the first time the veteran actor played a rabbi: he was Rabbi Nachtner in the Coen Brothers film A Serious Man. Wyner is also recognized for his roles on Hill Street Blues (Irwin Bernstein), in two Mel Brooks films Spaceballs (Colonel Sandurz, SEE LINK ABOVE) and To Be and Not To Be (Dr. Goldberg), The Postman with Kevin Costner (Benning Mayor) and Not Another Teen Movie (Mr. Cornish), among many others. New Amsterdam airs Tuesdays at 10 pm on NBC.
Wyner was also in Fletch with Chevy Chase…
