In the Blue Bloods episode “Trust,” NYPD cop Eddie Janko (Vanessa Ray) and her new partner, Maya (Yasha Thompson), clash with their boss Jamie Reagan (Will Estes) after they fail to intervene in a public dispute at a convenience store. Meanwhile, Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) learns that her co-worker Anthony Abetamarco (Steve Schirripa) is investigating Blue Skies Retirement Center, where his 80-year-old mother, Lucille Abetamarco, is a resident. Anthony suspects that they’re running unnecessary medical tests on residents including his mother. Last time Blue Bloods fans saw Lucille was in the 2016 episode “Good Cop, Bad Cop,” when Lucille, who has Alzheimer’s, was bilked out of her life savings by a con-man.

Anthony’s mother Lucille Abetemarco on Blue Bloods is portrayed by Suzanne Shepherd. She’s known for her roles on The Sopranos with Schirripa! (Carmela Soprano’s mother Mary DeAngelis), and in the films Lolita (Miss Pratt), Goodfellas (Karen’s overbearing mother), Uncle Buck (assistant vice principal Mrs. Hogarth, see photo below), and Mystic Pizza (Aunt Tweedy), among others. Shepard most recently was in the 2017 film Where Is Kyra? with Michelle Pfeiffer and Kiefer Sutherland (Shepard plays Pfeiffer’s mother). Blue Bloods airs Fridays at 10 pm on CBS, right after Hawaii Five-0.
