On the Grey’s Anatomy episode “Momma Knows Best,” while Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) shows up to work all dolled up for her blind date later that day, Maggie (Kelly McCreary) tends to a woman brought in by Station 19 firefighters Andy (Jaina Lee Ortiz) and Dean (Okieriete Onaodowan) — it’s a crossover! Maggie has the awful job of telling the woman’s husband and young son that they couldn’t save her. The husband is portrayed by actor Flex Alexander.
Flex Alexander is known for his roles on One on One (Mark “Flex” Washington), Girlfriends (Darnell Wilkes), and in the films The Hills Have Eyes II (Sarge), Snakes on a Plane (Three Gs), and She’s All That (Kadeem), among others. The 6’3” tall New York native has been married to singer Shanice since 2000. They have two children together. They starred in their own reality TV show on Oprah’s OWN, Flex & Shanice.
