In the Blue Bloods episode “Mind Games,” while Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) investigates a case involving a woman who shot her husband while she was drunk, his father, Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck), holds a code red emergency drill for his inner circle. When he gets to the bunker, “where we go when everywhere else is a no-go,” he meets Inspector Azoulay, who needs to confirm his identity by scanning his hand.

Inspector Azoulay is portrayed by Clifton Davis. As an actor, the minister/songwriter is known for roles on Madam Secretary (Ephraim Ware), Billions (Judge Wailand), Amen (Reverend Reuben Gregory), and That’s My Mama (Clifton Curtis), among others. Davis is also a minister (St. Luke Baptist Church in New York City), and songwriter: The Jackson 5 made his song “Never Can Say Goodbye” a hit in the 1970s, and The Supremes sang his “Here Comes the Sunrise.” Blue Bloods airs Fridays at 10pm on CBS, right after Hawaii Five-0.
