The hilarious murder mystery sitcom Trial & Error is back for its second season. This time around, attorney Josh Segal (Nicholas D’Agosto) and Associates defends Lavinia Peck Foster (Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth), the eccentric First Lady of East Peck. The body of her husband, Edgar, was found in a suitcase in the trunk of her car. The judge rules that Lavinia must stand trial for the murder of her husband. While Josh and the team try to poke holes in the timeline of the case (he’s arguing against Carole Anne again), Virgitte, the court stenographer, is on the job.

Court stenographer Virgitte is portrayed by Lauren McGibbon. This is the former flight attendant’s first major role on a prime-time TV series. (McGibbon occasionally appears as the perky volunteer on Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events.) McGibbon will appear next in the musical remake of Freaky Friday (as Ms. Meyers), to be released via Disney Channel August 10. Trial & Error airs Thursdays at 9pm and 9:30pm on NBC.
