In the Season 3 episode of Little Big Shots, “Little Miss Sunshine,” the Little Miss Sunshine refers to 13-year-old singer/songwriter Emi Sunshine. (She was born Emilie Sunshine Hamilton in Madisonville, Tennessee.) After having a heart-to-heart with host Steve Harvey, Emi gets on the stage and sings her heart out and plays her ukulele while wearing a cool country look.

Where did such a young person get all that confidence? She got it from experience. Emi has performed at the Grand Ole Opry 14 times, and she just released her fourth solo album in 2017!
Emi Sunshine’s latest album is Ragged Dreams (see link above). The 15-track album includes her single “Ragged Dreams” and other mountain melodies including “Sinners Serenade”, “Strong Armed Robbery” and “Porter Wagoner Blue”, among others. Emi says “I like to write about the underdog… I also like to write about murder, suicide, and cheatin’… I get my ideas from scary movies. (I love scary movies.) I like the ‘shock’ factor.”
Emi’s other albums include American Dream and 40 Acre Dream. And in 2013, she released Black Sunday ’35 with the Rain which includes her single “I Am Able.” New episodes of Little Big Shots air Sundays at 8pm on NBC.
