60 Minutes is airing its interview with actress Jennifer Lawrence and correspondent Bill Whitaker on Sunday, February 25. Lawrence, who Forbes lists as Hollywood’s highest-paid woman, did not need a college education to pursue and achieve success in her career. In fact, Lawrence dropped out of middle school to pursue acting. She doesn’t have a high school diploma or a GED which she says she’s doesn’t regret. “I wanted to forge my own path and I found what I wanted to do and I didn’t want anything getting in the way of it.”

The 27-year-old Oscar winner (Silver Linings Playbook) tells Whitaker that “even friends for many years weren’t as important to me as my career, from the age of 14.” According to imdb, Lawrence’s first role was in a 2006 episode of the TV series Monk. (She was either 15 or 16 at the time.) In the episode (see link above) “Mr. Monk and the Big Game,” Monk (Tony Shalhoub) coaches a girl’s high school basketball team while trying to solve the murder of the team’s beloved coach.
