In The Mick episode “The Teacher,” Sabrina (Sofia Black-D’Elia) develops a relationship with her (hot) poetry teacher Brian Reed. Mickey (Kaitlin Olson) doesn’t trust the situation so at the school arts festival while Sabrina is on stage to recite one of her poems, Mickey jumps on stage too. And yes, it’s embarrassing. Principal Gibbons (Wayne Wilderson) tries to stop Mickey but it’s too late.
Poetry teacher Brian Reed is portrayed by Nate Smith. The Wesleyan grad is known for his roles on Amazon’s Red Oaks (Skip), There’s…Johnny! (Mike), Odd Mom Out (Elliot, see link above), Modern Family (Blake), Inside Amy Schumer (Agent Torpe), and UCB Comedy Originals, among others. Or maybe you recognize him from the 2014 Childish Gambino music video “Sweatpants” featuring Problem (see below). The Mick airs Tuesdays at 9pm on FOX.
