On the How to Get Away with Murder episode “I’m Not Her,” Annalise (Viola Davis) continues to struggle with her personal life as she reconnects with a client from her past. Annalise is one seriously complicated character to play.
One day before episode aired, Davis posted a video from her interview on the ABC talk show The View. Davis referred to the late acting coach Sanford Meisner who said the most important question an actor can ask is why. Davis says she sees her and her husband’s (Julius Tennon) production company JuVee Productions “as the why.” Davis goes on to say “Why can’t I be sexualized as a 52-year-old dark skinned black woman? Why can’t I be funny? Why can’t I be angry? Why do I have to be put in a box?” JuVee Productions is producing a new comedy on ABC called Black Don’t Crack. How To Get Away with Murder airs Thursdays at 10pm on ABC.
