In the Riverdale episode “Chapter Fourteen: A Kiss Before Dying,” while Archie (KJ Apa) struggles to comprehend the shooting at Pop’s diner and Veronica’s (Camila Mendes) father Hiram (Mark Consuelos) shows up earlier than expected, Betty (Lili Reinhart) talks to Kevin (Casey Cott) about Jughead (Cole Sprouse). Betty tells Kevin that she and Jughead told each other that they love each other. But then the conversation got “complicated,” says Betty, “in a ‘my boyfriend may be joining the Serpents kind of way.’”
Kevin says “no way” and questions if Betty learned anything from Joaquin (Rob Raco) who “dumped bodies in Sweet Water River and mopped buckets of blood” with the Southside Serpents gang. (Remember: Joaquin and Kevin used to be an item before Joaquin left town!) Jughead wouldn’t dump bodies and mop blood, would he? Riverdale airs Wednesdays at 8pm on CW.
