During the Blind Auditions of The Voice Season 13, new coach Jennifer Hudson threw her shoe (or Miley’s shoe or a notebook) on stage when some of the singers performed. It’s a compliment, JHud explained. Davon Fleming, the 25-year-old from Baltimore who sang the Amy Winehouse song “Me & Mr. Jones” and joined Team Jennifer, knew what it meant — and he wants her to do it again at the Battle Rounds.
For the Battle Round, Davon is singing with/against Maharasyi who killed the Khaka Chan & Rufus song “Tell Me Something Good” for her Blind Audition. Before their performance, Davon said (standing next to Maharasyi): “We’re hoping to get shoes thrown at us.” Davon explains: “There are a couple of different ways you can say somebody just blazed a song – in other words killed a song – or you can do what Jennifer Hudson does and throw a shoe at me.” The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
