In the Teen Mom 2 episode “Welcome to a Puerto Rican Baby Shower,” while Briana’s baby shower takes an unexpected turn when the father of her baby Luis shows up, Kailyn (who is pregnant with her third child) drives to Delaware State University where she’s taking a media class. She arrives to her class late and with her two young sons, Isaac and Lincoln. When Kailyn walks into the classroom, she says “Surprise” to her professor who looks at his wristwatch while Kailyn arranges the boys in seats next to her. She lays out their homework and provides juice boxes.
The professor tries to lead the class into a discussion but the boys are arguing and distracting the class. Kailyn puts down her phone (she’s texting) and asks if the boys can go in the adjacent studio. But even through the soundproof doors, Kailyn and the rest of the class can hear them arguing. The professor reminds the others to “pay attention” but it’s difficult as those soundproof doors are transparent. Being a single mom is challenging and it’s admirable that Kailyn is pursing an education, but is it fair to the others in the class? Teen Mom 2 airs Mondays at 9pm on MTV.
