Former teen singing sensation Debbie Gibson is competing on Dancing with the Stars, Season 25. During the course of the show, fans will learn a lot more about Gibson. She recently revealed on Oprah: Where Are They Now? that the death of Prince influenced her to “come clean” about her drug prescription use. And not many are aware of Gibson’s connection with The Boss, Bruce Springsteen.

Over her 30-year career, Debbie Gibson has released nine studio albums including her debut Out of the Blue. That’s just half of Bruce Springsteen’s 18 studio albums — however the two share the title of 1989 ASCAP Songwriter of the Year. In 1989, Debbie Gibson dropped her second album Electric Youth (she wrote all the songs, and produced six of them) which was certified double Platinum, and Springsteen’s 1987 Tunnel of Love (for which he got the 1989 songwriter nod) went triple Platinum. Gibson was 19 at the time, Springsteen 40. Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8pm on ABC.
