Eric Jones is one of a handful of magicians competing on America’s Got Talent, Season 12. Hours before performing at the Live Shows, Eric posted a video of himself explaining how David Blaine “got me into magic.” Jones says he got to see Blaine do a trick where he had a quarter that he borrowed from the audience, and ripped it in half with his teeth. He showed the audience the severed piece and then spit the other half back on. “Completely restoring the quarter,” says Jones. (Video below.) Since then magic has become Jones’ “obsession.” He’s been practicing magic for over ten years and he’s hoping “it’ll help me win AGT.”

Jones says for his Live Shows performance, he’s doing something he’s never done before. Keep in mind, during the Judge Cuts, Jones smashed AGT judge Simon Cowell’s buzzer. (At Jones’ audition, Simon said he wished his act was more dramatic. Jones’ second act — with the smashing of his buzzer — won Simon over.) America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8pm on NBC.
