Little Big Shots: Forever Young host Steve Harvey has met a lot of interesting people on the show. In the Season 1 finale, he’ll meet 72-year-old pole dancer Dai Dali from China, a 6’1” man who can squeeze himself into a 21” square box, and world champion trick roper Chris McDaniel.
[Like trick roping? You’ll probably enjoy Will Rogers’ collection of witty sayings]
McDaniel, the son of a preacher, grew up preaching and singing in church and has been in singing groups since college. Later he got the opportunity to work with The Gatlin Brothers. When Larry Gatlin was hired to play Will Rogers on Broadway (The Will Rogers Follies), Chris learned how to rope. These days McDaniel performs in a lot of burlesque shows. McDaniels said: “I especially love the burlesque gigs. Response is usually just nuts, almost like being a rock star. Performers are some of the best people I know — warm, generous, and passionate.” He added, “Of course, being around all the gorgeous people is a nice perk too.” Check out Chris performing at the Fifth Annual Burlesque Festival in New Orleans below. Little Big Shots: Forever Young airs Wednesdays at 8pm on NBC.
