For the first round of Judges Cuts on America’s Got Talent, Season 12, the guest judge is TV host Chris Hardwick (The Wall, Talking Dead). He says “I’m not a hatchet man, I’m a hugger” but he’s going to have to tell some people no. The 20 acts performing are vying for just 7 spots. That said, Hardwick does have access to The Golden Buzzer. And he didn’t hesitate to use it.
While presidential impersonator The Singing Trump thinks that “The Golden Buzzer belongs to Trump,” it was a more traditional act that moved Hardwick to hit the big gold button and send 9-year-old Angelica Hale straight to the America’s Got Talent Live Shows. “Angelica,” Hardwick said as he readied his hand to slam down on the buzzer, “you are the Chosen One!” Angelica had just “nailed” — in Simon Cowell’s own words — Alicia Keys’ “Girl on Fire.” America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
