When the Dancing Pumpkin Man auditioned for Season 12 of America’s Got Talent, he got vulnerable with judge Simon Cowell. He confessed to “Simes” (rhymes with mimes) that his goal used to be to make money (“the hot dollar”) but that now it’s to “spread the joy through the dance.” After his performance, set to the 1980s song “Somebody’s Watching Me,” the Dancing Pumpkin Man got enough yeses to advance to the Judges Cut.

What many don’t know about the Dancing Pumpkin Man is his real identity. That’s Matt Geiler — comedian, actor, musician, lyricist, poet, and artist. Among other things, Geiler is the illustrator of at least seven children’s books including the PosiKids series written by Mark Lottman. America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
