It’s one to one in the NBA Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors were NBA champs in 2015, but the Cavs ripped the title from their clutches in 2016. Both teams added talent. Cleveland returns players they were missing the year they lost — Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving, two of their top three. Golden State, you may have heard, added Kevin Durant.
Kenny Smith has no hesitation as he describes picking Golden State to win the 2017 NBA Championship. “A team that was up 3-1 added Kevin Durant,” Smith said. “To me that is the difference.” Smith is referring to the 3-1 lead the Warriors had in last year’s Finals before the Cavs staged their incredible comeback. Game 1 is at Oracle Arena — aka Roar-acle Arena for its decibel level — on June 1.
