On the Southern Charm Savannah episode “Boys of Summer,” while Daniel Eiccholz prepares for his drag queen performance, Hannah Pearson and Ashley Borders sit down together. Hannah wasn’t pleased to hear about Ashley playing strip golf with Louis Oswald. When Hannah says she respects Ashley’s “values and beliefs,” Ashley gets defensive and says Hannah “thinks [she’s] better than me because she’s more religious than me.”

Ashley explains that “a lot of people in the South use Christianity as a standard to judge people, not as a way of living.” It’s not just in the South, but Ashley continues to reveal: “When I was 13 or 14, I got asked to leave the church because of the way I dressed.” She adds, “Actually, the whole deacon board decided that my family needed to leave (the church) because my mother stood up for me.” Ashley gets choked up and tells Hannah, “This is why I go golfing with boys, because I’m tired of girls who attack me.” Southern Charm Savannah airs Mondays at 10pmon Bravo.
