In the TV movie Manny Dearest, the protagonist is single mom Karen Clark. She hires Alex Stanley (Mitch Ryan) as “a manny” (a male nanny) to watch her two young sons Max and Rex. The problem is Alex is a lunatic and is willing to kill people in order to get what he wants (their family). Don’t worry, Karen fends him off…and with an aluminum baseball bat!
Karen Clark is portrayed by Ashley Scott. She’s known for her roles on UnREAL (Mary Newhouse), Jericho (Emily Sullivan), Birds of Prey (Helena Kyle aka The Huntress) and Dark Angel (Asha Barlow), among others. Scott is also recognized for her debut role as Gigolo Jane in the 2001 Steven Spielberg film, A.I. Artificial Intelligence. Manny Dearest premieres on Lifetime on Saturday, April 29 at 8pm.
