On the Superior Donuts episode ‘Get It, Arthur’, viewers will be reminded that donut shop owner Arthur Przybyszewski (Judd Hirsch) knew police officer Randy DeLucas’ (Katey Sagal) parents back in the day. When Randy’s mom Helen comes to town, Arthur takes Franco’s (Jermaine Fowler) advice and goes out on his first date in years — with Helen.
Helen is portrayed by Brenda Vaccaro. The Brooklyn-born actress is known for her roles in the films Supergirl (Bianca), Zorro: The Gay Blade (Florinda), Airport ’77 (Eve Clayton), and Midnight Cowboy (Shirley), among many others. Vaccaro is also recognized for her husky voice — she supplied the voice for Johnny Bravo’s mother Bunny and was the first voice of Jay’s (Jon Lovitz)’s ex-wife Ardeth on The Critic. Superior Donuts airs Mondays at 9pm on CBS.
