In the Blue Bloods episode ‘A Deep Blue Goodbye’, while NYPD detective Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) investigates the disappearance of a former NYPD cop, his father Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) must deal Chief Travis Jackson who refuses to retire at the mandatory age limit, which is 63. When ordered to retire, Jackson files an age discrimination lawsuit against the NYPD.

Chief Travis Jackson is portrayed by Isaiah Washington. The younger than 63-year-old actor is known for his roles on The 100 (Thelonious Jaha), Grey’s Anatomy (Dr. Preston Burke), and in the films Ghost Ship (Greer), Romeo Must Die (Mac), and Spike Lee’s Clockers (Victor Dunham), among others. Blue Bloods airs Fridays at 10pm on CBS.
