In the black-ish episode ‘I’m a Survivor’, Dre (Anthony Anderson) returns to Compton for a funeral where he reunites with childhood friends and struggles with survivor’s remorse. One of his friends is Sha. (Last time Sha came to visit Dre, Bow thought he was taking advantage of Dre’s generosity.)

The 85-year-old actress known for her roles on The First Family (Grandma Eddy), The Hughleys (Hattie Mae Hughley), 227 (Mary Jenkins), and The Jeffersons (Florence Johnston), among others. Gibbs will appear next on the big screen in the 2017 film Please Stand By with Dakota Fanning and Toni Colette. black-ish airs Wednesdays at 9:30pm on ABC.
