You often hear about Reddit when bad actors post things they shouldn’t on the site, which bills itself credibly as the “front page of the Internet.” So here’s a little positive Ho Ho Ho from the Reddit community, courtesy of the ingenious Redditgifts.com. Each year there’s a Secret Santa on Redditgifts where virtual strangers gift each other. This year, after getting blown off by her Secret Santa last year, the Reddit user name Aerrix signed up again — ever hopeful. And this year that hope was fulfilled a million times over — Aerrix got billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates as her Secret Santa.
Gates overnighted a huge box filled with 12 gifts, personally selected for Aerrix’s pleasure — she likes video games, for instance, and Gates sent three of them. Gates included a nice letter too, and a pic of himself in a Santa hat. And he made a donation to code.org on her behalf, so Aerrix got to give some kids a chance to learn code and create a future for themselves. All in all a pretty good Christmas. Aerrix thought so.
