The Odd Couple episode ‘Taffy Days’ is a tribute to Garry Marshall, the creator of the original show who also played Oscar Madison’s (Matthew Perry) father Walter in the new one before passing away at the age of 81. A handful of actors from the TV legend’s previous sitcoms including Laverne & Shirley and Happy Days make cameo appearances as Oscar reconnects with some of his father’s old friends.

Vivian is portrayed by Cindy Williams. She’s best known for her role as Shirley Feeney in Garry Marshall’s Laverne & Shirley with Garry’s sister Penny Marshall. Before TV, Williams starred in George Lucas’ film American Graffiti (Laurie) with Ron Howard, and in Francis Ford Coppola’s The Conversation with Harrison Ford and Gene Hackman. The Odd Couple airs Mondays at 9:30pm on CBS.
