Lesley Stahl landed the first interview with President-elect Trump. For the interview, Trump is surrounded by his wife and adult children. Stahl brings up Obamacare with Trump “which you say you will repeal and replace.” She asks Trump: “When you replace it are you going to make sure that people with pre-existing conditions are still cov…” before she can finish the word “covered” Trump interrupts and says, “Yes. Because it happens to be one of the strongest assets.” So you’re going to keep that? Stahl asks. He talks over her, “Also with the children who are living with parents for an extended period.” He adds, ‘We’re very much going to try to keep that.”
Stahl says, ‘There’s going to be a period – if you repeal it – and before you replace it, when millions of people” – Trump interrupts again (before she says “are going to lose it”) and says, “Nope, we’re going do it simultaneously. It’ll be just fine.” 60 Minutes airs Sundays at 7pm on CBS.
