By her own exuberant admission, rapper Iggy Azalea owes her “fabulous nose and breasts” to Dr. Ashkan Ghavami. Azalea made sure to shout out birthday wishes and general gratitude to Ghavami (see below) — and it’s the kind of praise Ghavami is used to from his patients. Rhinoplasty — the shaping of the nose — is as much art as medicine, and Ghavami excels in the procedure. The Beverly Hills plastic surgeon is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery — the most rigorous and exclusive organization certifying aesthetic surgeons. (Not everybody offering rhinoplasty, liposuction, etc. is board-certified — remember to check.)
Dr. Ghavami’s practice emphasizes listening to patients with undivided attention. But he also stresses that after that listening, he’ll give you an honest opinion. (Sometimes a patient’s fantasies need to be brought in line with reality.) A critical aspect of Ghavami’s style is, as his website states, that he’ll help “ensure that you choose a treatment plan that is safe and effective for the aesthetic goals you want to achieve.” Plastic surgery can go horribly wrong, as everyone with an Internet connection has seen. The emphasis on safety helps patients understand Ghavami’s priorities. Iggy Azalea, for one, thinks it’s fabulous stuff.
