The late Robin Williams‘ children — Zak, Zelda and Cody — are auctioning off more than 80 bicycles from the actor’s huge collection. Williams was a passionate cyclist who worked off much of his incredible energy — and found peace and inspiration — participating in this sport he loved. (Williams was also an avid triathlete.) The bicycles, which are expected to fetch $200,000 or more in total, will benefit charities such as the Christopher and Dan Reeve Foundation.
The auction is being held all month at Paddle8.com and features a wide variety of styles — for example the classic Dario Pegoretti Duende in black, currently being bid at $5000. The Williams children have some advice — or more of a request — for bidders who really hope to honor the former owner of their new Robin Williams bike: “Though not required, may we suggest wearing the loudest, most vibrant and brightly-patterned, skintight biking gear possible when riding them? Keep the tradition alive.”
