In the Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode ‘Meet the New Boss’, while Daisy (Chloe Bennet) fights Ghost Rider, agents Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) have an appointment to meet the new Director. He has a bold agenda for the agency. He’s about to publicly announce S.H.I.E.L.D. as a legitimate agency again but he needs to cooperation of Coulson and May. As the Director tells them, “Public opinion matters a great deal – without it, everything falls apart.”
The Director is portrayed by Jason O’Mara. The Irish-born actor is known for his roles on Complications (John Ellison), Sons of Liberty (George Washington), To Appomattox (Ulysses S. Grant), The Good Wife (Damian Boyle), Vegas (Deputy Jack Lamb), Life on Mars (Detective Sam Tyler), Men in Trees (Stuart Maxson), and The Agency (A.B. Stiles), among others. O’Mara is also recognized for starring in the 2012 film One for the Money with Katherine Heigl. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays at 10pm on ABC.
