In the Wahlburgers episode “Dorchester Daze,” Paul, Bob and Alma Wahlberg scout a new location in their hometown of Dorchester, Massachusetts for their family restaurant chain Wahlburgers. While in town, they visit an old house Alma owned after her divorce from the boys’ father Donald Wahlberg Sr.
Alma and Donald were married from 1965 to 1982. A former member of Teamsters Local 25 and Korean War veteran (US Army), Donald did not remarry. He died in 2008 at the age of 78. At his funeral, actor son Donnie Wahlberg (Blue Bloods, Donnie Loves Jenny) said during his eulogy: “My dad was always wondering if he did a good job as a parent. Looking at the front row here, I think he’d be pretty proud.” Donald Wahlberg Sr. is buried in Dorchester at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Wahlburgers airs Wednesdays at 10pm on A&E.
