On Celebrity Family Feud, while rapper Snoop Dogg and boxing champ Sugar Ray Leonard duke it out, former professional boxer Laila Ali will play against actor George Hamilton and his ex-wife Alana Stewart. Laila Ali has her mother, Veronica Porché Ali, in her corner.
Porché was Muhammad Ali’s third wife. They met in Zaire in 1974 when Porché was 18 years old. She was one of the poster girls who had promoted the “Rumble in the Jungle” fight against George Foreman. (The extraordinary true tale of that fight became the film When We Were Kings.) Porché and Ali married in Los Angeles in 1977. They had two children — daughters Laila and Hana Yasmeen. They divorced in 1986. Porché remarried in 1992 to jazz musician and Broadway actor Carl Anderson, who died in 2004 from leukemia, he was 58. Celebrity Family Feud airs Sundays at 8pm on ABC.
