Despite calls to fire his wife Melania Trump’s speechwriter — even by party boss Reince Preibus — Donald Trump doesn’t want to do it. For a man as famous for saying “You’re Fired” as he is for his hair and real estate portfolio, this strikes many as ironic. But in a statement written by Melania Trump speechwriter Meredith Melver, the “longtime friend and admirer of the Trump family” says she will keep her job. She offered her resignation after the big RNC speech “plagiarism” mini-scandal, but the Trumps rejected it, she says.
Melver says Donald Trump “told me that people make innocent mistakes and that we learn and grow from these experiences.”
