In the Hawaii Five-0 episode “Pilina Koko (Blood Ties),” a woman is murdered in her home and Five-0 friend Gerard Hirsch (Willie Garson) gets roughed up by the suspect. The good news is Hirsch gets to work with his crush Kono (Grace Park) to help solve the case. At one point during the investigation, Kono gets to meet Hirsch’s father, Leo. He’s a painter, too.
Leo Hirsch is portrayed by Elliott Gould. He’s known for his roles on Ray Donovan (Ezra Goodman), Mulaney (Oscar), Friends (Monica and Ross’ father Jack Geller), and the sitcom E/R (Dr. Howard Sheinfeld), among others. Gould is also well recognized for his roles in the films American History X (Murray), Ocean’s Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen (Reuben Tishkoff), M*A*S*H* (Trapper John McIntyre), and Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (Ted Henderson), for which he was nominated for an Oscar. P.S. Gould was married to Barbra Streisand (1963-1971). Hawaii Five-0 airs Fridays at 9pm on CBS.
