On the Little Big Shots episode “The Idiom of Love,” host Steve Harvey meets 7-year-old theater critic Iain Armitage from Arlington, Virginia. Other than age, what separates him from the rest of the theater critics is that Iain never gives a bad review. Where did that idea come from? Well, Iain’s parents are in the theater business. His father is Tony-nominated actor Euan Morton (he’s known for his role as Boy George in Taboo) and his mother is stage producer Lee Armitage. Iain’s father says with a laugh, “I wish more critics were like him [Iain] and didn’t give bad reviews.”
The homeschooled theater critic posts his reviews on YouTube. Just last week he performed a bit from King Lear to celebrate Shakespeare’s birthday (see video below). Little Big Shots airs Sundays at 7pm and 8pm on NBC.
