In the Bar Rescue episode “Danny Sits on His Fanny,” Danny is the general manager of Cirivello’s Bar in Long Beach, California. Although Danny had never managed a bar before, he convinced the Rosenthal family to invest in the restaurant with him and become co-owners. Now Cirivello’s is losing about $12k-$15k a month. In total, Cirivello’s is $375,000 in debt. So they called in Jon Taffer of Bar Rescue.
According to Bar Rescue, because Danny is being held responsible for turning the bar “into a bottomless money pit,” Jon is forced “to utilize a hostile takeover.” But is Danny solely to blame for the bar’s failure? Co-owner Marcus Rosenthal said he watched the place “disintegrate before my eyes” and that he “doesn’t have control over that.” Danny has a lot riding on the success of the bar too. “I’ve drained that [a college fund for his kids] to keep the place afloat.” Bar Rescue airs Sundays at 9pm on Spike.
