In the Nashville episode “How Does It Feel to Be Free,” while Frankie (Mark Collie) argues with Deacon (Charles Esten) and Rayna (Connie Britton) about giving newcomer Vita Martin (Jeananne Goossen) a shot on stage, Luke Wheeler (Will Chase) asks his old friend Riff Bell to join him on tour.
Riff Bell is portrayed by Steve Kazee. As an actor, the Tony and Grammy Award-winner is known for his roles on Shameless (Gus Pfender), Legends (Curtis Ballard), and Working Class (Nick Garrett). The Kentucky native moved to New York City in 2002 to study acting at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. That MFA degree paid off. On Broadway, he starred as Guy in Once for which he won a Tony and a Grammy for the musical’s album. Nashville airs Wednesdays at 10pm on ABC.
