In the pilot of The Real O’Neals, teenager Kenny (Noah Galvin) reveals to his Irish Catholic family that he’s gay. His mother Eileen (Martha Plimpton) doesn’t appreciate his confession and tries her best to “change him.” Now that the truth is out, Kenny must figure out a way to break up with his girlfriend Mimi. (Bonus: Kenny turns to TV talk show host Jimmy Kimmel for advice.)
Mimi is portrayed by Hannah Marks. She’s best known for her roles on MTV’s Awkward. (Gloria), Necessary Roughness (Lindsay Santino), The Client List (Kim), and Weeds (Harmony). Marks is also recognized for her roles in the films The Runaways (Tammy) and The Amazing Spider-Man (Missy Kallenback). The Real O’Neals premieres on Wednesday, March 2 at 8:30pm on ABC. Another episode will air the same night at 9:30pm, after Modern Family.
