Our art and entertainment need to satisfy us, show us our best selves — especially in times of turmoil and rage. Justice has a hard time in the real world. There’s an undertow always dragging it down. But in episode 35 of Dragon Ball Super, righteousness got an early knockout. And it was deeply satisfying. (SirLordBoss said at reddit: “Gotta say, Frost getting one-punched was actually hilarious for me, I couldn’t stop laughing, all that taunting, and then he doesn’t even last 10 seconds against Vegeta hahaha”).
Vegeta insisted on fighting Frost after it was revealed that Frost tipped the scales against Goku and Piccolo with a poison needle concealed on his wrist. And Vegeta got right down to the business of dispensing justice. He didn’t need all his power to do it, either. (There is no Super Saiyan God action.) But it looks like Vegeta will need more than just justice on his side against Magetta the robot, though, who is hard to stun into any sort of submission. Episode 36 looks as if it will force Vegeta to find new resources of strength to boost his chances against Magetta.
