What if all those Porzingis jerseys came in actual size? (see below)
In shocking news, the fourth most popular NBA player jersey belongs to 7’3″ New York Knicks rookie Kristaps Porzingis — or as Clyde Frazier calls him, KP. That puts the big 20-year-old from Latvia ahead of superstars Kevin Durant (#5), James Harden (#9), and even his Knicks teammate Carmelo Anthony (#15) on the jersey list. Pretty impressive for a guy whose sneaker brand most hoops fans can’t even name. (Which is not the case with the rest of the list. ) The only real regret is that all those Porzingis jerseys are ordered in sizes to fit the people who buy them. Because it would make a way bigger — literally — tribute if the jerseys just shipped in Porzingis’ actual size.
The #1 selling jersey belongs to Steph Curry. A lot of people might even have to order their Curry jerseys a little bigger than the slender MVP wears his on the court. Big sellers like LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and KD are all huge men whose actual-size jerseys on average-size people would look pretty silly. But the Porzingis jersey makes for a below-the-knee-dress on almost anybody — even the reigning MVP. If all the Knicks/Porzingis fans started sporting jerseys in actual sizes, Madison Square Garden would have a whole new aura.
