Country legend Wynonna Judd will perform on The Voice Season 9 finale. She will sing her 1992 song “No One Else On Earth” with Team Blake finalist Barrett Baber. It’s a bittersweet love song with lyrics including:
No one else on earth
Could ever hurt me
Break my heart the way that you do
No one else on earth
Was ever worth it
No one could touch me like
No one could love me like you
“No One Else on Earth” is from Wynonna’s self-titled debut solo album. More than 20 years later, Wynonna sings the song differently. She’s been through a lot; she’s lived life; and the experience can be felt in her voice. Back in 1992, Wynonna hadn’t yet married. Now she’s married to her third husband, producer/drummer Cactus Moser. It’s hard-won happiness you hear in her voice these days, with salt from tears and muscle from courage. Together Moser and Wynonna recorded Wynonna’s new album Wynonna & The Big Noise at their farmhouse studio in Tennessee. Wynonna described the album as “vintage yet modern” and a “return to the well.” You can go home again — you just sound a little different there. Wynonna & The Big Noise will be out on February 12, 2016. The Voice will name the winner of Season 9 on December 15 at 9pm on NBC.
