Subway restaurants is offering a buy-one-get-one-free sandwich deal nationwide on Election Day, November 3. The national sub shop is emphasizing the generosity aspect of the deal, calling it “buy one, give one.” (Besides Election Day it’s apparently National Sandwich Day.)

The 2-for-1 deal occurring on Election Day reminds some of what a Hillary Clinton presidency may represent. Though Mrs. Clinton has not touted her husband’s record much — and even distanced herself also from the current Democratic Oval Office resident — polls (and common sense) show she is inextricably linked to her husband politically. Many people believe that Clinton is essentially a 2-for-1 candidate, where a vote for Hillary gets Bill Clinton too. Back in 1992, Bill Clinton used to say that in electing him you got “two for the price of one,” because his wife was then a very popular political asset. The former president may no longer be part of a 2-for-1 political bargain (though Hillary’s distance from Bill may close as the race moves forward). But you can bet one thing for sure: the old Bill Clinton would be all over this Subway sandwich deal.
