The long list of the top MOBA games at mmobomb begins with League of Legends and doesn’t include Black Ops 3 — for now. But the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, upgraded with an aim at real reinvention by Treyarch in this iteration, demands inclusion. The enormously popular first-person shooter game now features explicit hero classes commonly found in MOBA games on the mmobomb list: League of Legends, Smite, Airmech, Arena of Heroes, DOTA 2, Dead Island Epidemic, Heroes of Newerth, Heroes of the Storm, etc.
Does it work? Games Radar says “multiplayer is the main attraction here,” saying somewhat mysteriously that it feels “more Michael Bay than James Cameron.” Metacritic concludes that “Treyarch introduces a new momentum-based chained-movement system which enables players to fluidly move through the environment with finesse,” with GameTrailers calling Black Ops 3 the “most robust offering in the franchise this generation.” It might even be too early to judge, because Black Ops 3 presents a remarkably content rich environment. PS — everybody seems to love the reintroduced Zombies mode.
